"I uh, took down a purse snatcher, two drunk drivers, and a streaking engineer student, THEN I held a baby!" Probably my favorite Sam Swarek line of the night!
"We make a good team you and me...." Second favorite Sam Swarek line. And YES Sam...you DO make a good team!
Actually, there's a line that trumps them that has me laughing just thinking about it, but you'd have to understand the context to get it. Will try and post a video of it tomorrow.
LOVED how all he had to do was look at Andy when he went into the nightclub and she knew the deal was off. It's amazing what can be conveyed with just a raise of an eyebrow.
Also loved how Sam's first concern was whether or not Andy had been hit when they busted in...
Traci- I adore you!
Gail- I'm still liking you....Wow.
Dov-Wanted to hug you tonight!
Chris- Your poor nose!
Luke- Go away--And take Jo with you!
The coffee mix up....That cup was SO meant for Jo....What decent boyfriend DOESN'T know how his girlfriend likes her coffee? And all the talk about "figuring out who you're meant for..." Hellooooooo.....Are you listening, Andy?
Okay, when Andy was going on and on about how great Luke was, I wanted to crawl through the T.V. and give Sam a hug--AFTER I was I was finished being ill from the "Luke love fest." GAG!
Sam-"Good job tonight, you kept it real"
Andy-"Just did what I was taught...." Awww....Giving credit to her TO...Sam is no doubt proud!
AAAAAAANNNDDD....That's a wrap for this week's "Rookie Blue" Commentary. Same time, same blog! Until then...."Serve, protect....And keep it real!"

Short Night, Long Day!
When your cell phone rings at 4:30 in the morning and you roll over and glare at the screen to see your sister calling, you're heart seems to drop into your feet. However, when you find out she's calling you with THIS NEWS and tells you "Go wake up Mom and Dad...He's in your neighborhood..." Your heart seems to drop, and speed up at the same time.
This was my reality this morning. Growing up in a city that has more prisons than anything else, you sort of get used to the occasional inmate escape. You're alert, but not paranoid. And being the daughter of a cop, being aware of our surroundings is nothing new, it's our lifestyle. So, I wasn't really worried as I hung up with my sister and got out of bed. However, As I exited my room to wake my parents, I was greeted with the flashing lights of blue and red reflecting off our front door pane. I literally ran down the hall and woke my parents, telling them about the situation and that it seemed a police car was in our driveway. Dressing quickly, my Dad went to look out the window. There were indeed TWO police cars stationed right outside our house. Our neighbors across the street were out of town and we had been watching their house for them. Next to their house was an empty heavily wooded lot.
Dad, being a retired police officer knew protocol and didn't want to be in the way. It wasn't until a third car showed up that he ventured out to identify himself to the cops and make them aware that our neighbors hadn't been home for a few days. He was told they were waiting for the search dogs to arrive. So, we all sat in the living room and listened to radio updates. Soon, our subdivision was in full lock down, and we heard a search chopper overhead. As daylight broke, we noticed police walking our street with search dogs and several police cars surveying the area. At one point we had four police cars parked along our curb. Despite the seriousness of the situation, we felt like we were the safest people in the neighborhood at that point. LOL!
As I write this entry, the inmate is still at large, but things in our area have calmed down. It's not known where he is, but it's apparent by the diminishing police presence, that our neighborhood is no longer a huge point of interest (at least not right now).
Days like today have made me grateful for several things:
- Our local law enforcement. I grew up with a cop, so I've always had an incredible respect for them. They've done an amazing job at keeping us informed and just their simple presence in the early hours of this morning was a comfort.
-The fact that I don't live alone. Seriously, it was REALLY nerve wracking this morning. I would have HATED being alone under those circumstances.
- A big sister that calls in the middle of the night to make sure we are aware of what's going on.
-Our local radio station for the great job they did of keeping everyone informed.
-Facebook. Laugh if you must, but this was a great tool that allowed us to what was going on in other parts of our neighborhood.
-The fact that I no longer work on Tuesday's. It would've been a nightmare trying to get out of here this morning, and I was happy to be able to stick close to home today.
It's been a whirlwind day, no doubt about it. But in the midst of so much uncertainty today, there was a lot to be thankful for.
My prayers tonight go out to those still searching for this person. May all of this come to a peaceful conclusion very soon!

A MUST Read!
Rookie Blue: "Butterflies"
Oh. My. Gosh!!!!!! What a season premiere!!!!!!!! If you haven't watched, this entry contains SPOILERS....Stop NOW if you don't want to know what happened!
* Oh Andy, you so made me smile when you were "dancing it out" to "You Make My Dreams Come True" in the opening scene! Would have loved it even more if you know who hadn't come into the room.
* "Love workin' with you, McNally, can't imagine my life with you in it...." Oh Sam, how true that is! Great foreshadowing for what happened just seconds later!
* Notice how with everything going on after the shots were fired, and loads of other cops around, Sam made a beeline for Andy! Loved how he talked to her and tried to calm her down. Hated that he had to rush off to find the ambulance.
* Gail moved up a notch for me tonight by the way she rushed to Andy's side!
* Shockingly, I loved Jo (at first) with how understanding she was with Andy, sharing her own story of when she got shot. Once she found out Andy was Luke's girlfriend, her demeanor totally changed, as did my opinion of her....LOL!
* Sam....Bless his worried little heart. He grabs Andy and practically drags her behind the ambulance. He didn't say a word, but he kept touching her....Arms, shoulders, face, all in an effort to convince himself that she REALLY IS okay. Can it BE more obvious how he feels about her?
* And then he goes all cop, trusting his gut when he sees the guy hanging around...."If you have a gun (that almost killed the girl I'm head over heels for) so help me....." And lo and behold...A gun. Sam is NOT a happy cop!
* LOVED the Andy/Oliver scene and the nice reference to Season one in regards to "the talk." Soooo great! Love Oliver!
* Loved how they addressed organ donation. In my opinion, any time the word can get out about that, it's great!
* Nice to get some Dov back story!
* Andy does indeed seem a lot tougher already compared to S1, course getting shot can do that to a person.
* Sam, me thinks you won't be going to guns and gangs anytime soon....A certain brunette will definitely factor in to your decision to stick around. Just sayin'
Alright, that's all I've got for tonight! Leave questions in the comments and I'll do my best to answer them! If you missed the premiere tonight, it will be shown again, Saturday, June 25th on ABC at 10/9 central.
I LOVE the fact that I got text messages from three different people tonight during the show telling me they were watching, and several people tweeted to tell me they were watching too! You have no idea how happy that makes me! Thank you! I hope you enjoyed it and will tune in next week!
Would love to hear what you thought if you did tune in!

Rookie Blue: What You Need To Know
For those that will be reading my Rookie Blue Entries this summer, here's what you need to know:
-The series revolves around the lives of five rookie cops, with emphasis on the life of rookie, Andy McNally.
-Andy's Father is an ex-cop. Andy's Mom left them when Andy was young.
-When season two open, Andy has moved in with boyfriend, detective Luke Callahan.
-Andy however, has feelings with her (now) ex-training officer Sam Swarek.
-Andy arrested two drug dealers on her first day, only to find out one of them was Sam Swarek who had been working undercover for MONTHS trying to get information on the dealers. Sam was none to pleased that a rookie blew his cover. Obviously, he got over it. :-)
-Andy and Sam almost gave in to their feelings on the night of a heatwave and blackout of the city. Andy had to shoot someone in self defense and ended up killing them. It was the first time she had killed someone on the job. She showed up at Sam's house, for what Sam thought was a talk. Andy had other ideas, but the power came on before things could go very far.
-In the season finale. Andy and Sam went undercover as a couple, while nothing was ever said outright, it was clear that both clearly care for each other.
- I am a Sam/Andy fan. If I were a paid entertainment reporter. I realize I would have to be more objective and give everyone a fair share of coverage. Since I am not, know that I will probably talk more about Andy/Sam than anyone else.
-I am not a Luke (Andy's current boyfriend) fan. I gave it an honest effort and just can't like him, didn't care for the character before he was dating Andy, now I REALLY don't care for him.
-Andy's best friend is Traci who has a son.
-I am not a Gail fan (she's the blond rookie)
-Love Oliver. You'll meet him soon enough.
-Enjoy Chris and Dov as well. You'll know who they are soon too.
-My episode commentaries will either be posted on Thursday nights or at some point Friday and may be nothing more than highlights, or full details. As I said above, I reserve the right not to talk about things I didn't find interesting.
-If you will be watching for the first time and have any questions on what you see or don't understand something, please leave a comment and I will answer them in my next "Rookie Blue" blog entry!
****Season Two begins tomorrow (if you're a subscriber, that would be, TODAY, Thursday, June 23rd) at 10/9 central on ABC. Please tune in, DVR or record it! I think you'll like what you see!****

Joy in my day!
My fabulous friend, Katy does these great "joy in every day" blog entries every week that I LOVE. I'm not great at doing them every week, but I had a really great day today and thought I'd share the highlights. I'll call it "Joy in my day." ;-)
-I woke up to a text message from my Texas big brother that made me feel like the most loved little sister on the planet!
-HUGE hugs from Austin this morning when he saw me....Have I mentioned before how I ADORE being an Aunt....It totally rocks!
-Went to Mr. Hamburger for the first time since it re-opened here....SO good!
-The wildfire here is 85 percent contained and firefighters were reporting that there was a little rain this morning that helped! Thanks, Lord! Grateful for every drop!
-TWO days (although by the time subscribers read this, it'll be ONE DAY) until "Rookie Blue" premieres season two! And a new interview came out from my fave, Ben Bass (who plays Sam Swarek) on what season two holds! LOVE Ben! Tomorrow I will TRY to post a "What You Should Know" entry for those who want to read my thoughts on the episodes this season.
- My voice- which was very ify yesterday, thanks to a cold or allergies-not sure which- was back today. Didn't go to work because I wasn't sure if it would hold out, and when you answer phones 95 percent of the time, a voice is kind of important. Thankful that it seems to be holding pretty well...MUCH better than yesterday!
-Quality time with Alexis and Austin this afternoon!
-Doggie kisses from Tazzie.
-Watching "America's Got Talent" with Mom. Not sure how much "talent" there was, but Nick Cannon kept us laughing for the entire hour with his reactions and hysterical comments!
Hope your day was as joyful as mine! :-)

Wildfire Update--We are safe!
For those wondering....
Yes, there is a fire in the Walker County area. It is north of where we live and the firefighters have been battling it for 24 hours now to keep it contained. Evacuations have taken place in that area.
If you are reading this, PLEASE take a second to pray for the situation. The firefighters are exhausted, and with the dry and windy conditions, another fire could pop up anywhere at any time. My ex-boyfriend is one of the firemen fighting this fire and my thoughts have been with him particularly these past hours. We haven't dated in years, but have remained close friends, so my thoughts always go to him when I hear they are battling a blaze.
Pray also for those that have already lost their homes due to these fires and for those that had to evacuate and don't KNOW yet how the situation looks for them.
Rain is in the forecast this week...Jesus, bring the rain!
God is NOT shaken....Even when WE are!
