Faith of a Child

My five year old niece was playing a computer game in our study this afternoon. I was in my room working on my computer when I hear her call my Mom into the room. Apparently, she had clicked on another game and for some reason, the directions to the game were in Japanese. I heard my Mom tell her, "Go get Nat-Nat, she might know how to fix it." I hear Alexis gasp and ask my Mom, "Nat-Nat knows Japanese???"

If only I had half the faith in myself that Alexis has in me! :)

GA Thoughts: "Sweet Surrender"

Photobucket

My show was back last night after nearly a month long hiatus and according to Shonda Rhimes, every episode from now until the finale (on May 14th) is new! So, here are my highlights from last nights episode entitled, "Sweet Surrender."

* MerDer talking in bed in the mornings discussing wedding types and rings and whatnot is just too cute! I've always loved their red sheets too!

* Line of the night: from a slightly panicked rambling Mer to Derek: "We will have bridesmaids in pink taffeta, and YOU will be wearing a top hat with a morning coat, and somebody will be singing wind beneath my freaking wings!" ROTFL!!! That was hysterical!

*Line of the night runner up from Derek after talking to Izzie about the wedding plans, he says to Mer: "Apparently a morning coat is non negotiable. Also you and I have to make time for ballroom dancing lessons..." LOL! The look on Mer's face and the way Derek totally caved...So funny! DWTS here they come! LOL!

* Very clever way of working around Chyler Leigh's pregnancy with Lexie eating all the time!

* LOVED Bailey tonight! Actually, I always love Bailey, but I love how her character was tonight with that precious little girl...I had to leave the room when she was dying, but I love how Bailey is with kids...Simply fabulous! I smell trouble for her marriage though, and that's sad.

* I really really like Arizona. Love her character. (Sorry, don't know the actress' name offhand).

* Amy Madigain is BACK!!!!!!!! LOOOOOOVE her!!!!!!! GA should totally keep her!

* How awesome was it to see the Grey Sisters bonding tonight?! Especially at the end of the show. The look on Lexie's face when she realized she was going to be a bridesmaid....Priceless! Love it and love that we're finally seeing them come together as sisters. Hopefully that continues!

* Poor Mer having to try on all those dresses when it's not really her thing....I for one can TOTALLY see MerDer getting married in scrubs in the SGH chapel amid the hospital chaos. It's just...Them. And maybe THEN we'll see the ring on her finger??? DIDN'T like that!

* Loved the song that played at the end of the show!

* Happy that Mark and Derek appeared to have made up.

Next week looks intense and I can already see many parallels just from the preview alone. Looking forward to it!

Permission to Squeal, Please!

Photobucket Ellen Pompeo (Meredith, Grey's Anatomy) is pregnant!!!

I want to squeal for a lot of reasons: 1) Because seriously, Ellen is PREGNANT! That in itself is reason to do a snoopy dance around the room. 2) Kara and I were RIGHT...We've speculated for weeks that perhaps she may be. It's FINALLY out and we are free to squeal! And 3) STORYLINE POSSIBILITIES!!!!!!!!!! Oh my flippin' goodness....Can you IMAGINE?!?!

Now, I have NO idea if Ellen's pregnancy will be written into the show but NOW is the PERFECT time to write it in if Shonda wants to give them a baby. Let's look at the facts, shall we?

* Meredith and Derek recently had a discussion about babies. Meredith brought it up FIRST and didn't even flinch. She's ready! And when she questioned Derek about it, he wanted her babies.... "All of them." He's ready!

* Remember the house made out of candles? (As if you could forget!) There's a "room where our kids could play!" THEY ARE READY!!!!

*PD has said in countless interviews that he's ready for Meredith and Derek to be married and start having babies. He says it would be an interesting dynamic for Meredith to balance marriage, motherhood, and work. He's right! It would put them dealing with issues that REAL couples deal with, not to mention give them a very dynamic storyline they could play any number of ways. I REALLY hope Patrick has voiced his opinion to Shonda...And I hope she really listens.

* Meredith and Derek are now engaged. Another step to readiness....

* My guess is that a wedding or "union" -as a certain favorite actor of mine referred to it- will take place between them before the season is over. No, I don't think it will be during the 1ooth episode, but I believe it WILL HAPPEN.

So...How's that song go...."First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes...." I think you get the picture. It would be nice to actually see a couple married BEFORE baby but that's the traditional part of me coming out. My POINT being....Everything is there, the stage is set, all Shonda has to do is take advantage of it!

I know there are reasons why a baby might NOT fit into the equation....So, I know there is a VERY good possibility that Shonda won't write it in BUT....Right now, I have every reason to hope...And of course, every reason to squeal.....

Congratulations, Ellen and Chris! *SQUEAL*

Twitter

I have no idea why, but I have joined the world of Twitter. As if I need any more networks....Between Myspace and Faceook. Although, it seems I'm slowly moving away from mysace and more toward Facebook....Not sure how that happened or when for that matter.

Anyway, back to Twitter....Not sure how much I'll update, but if you're interested in following me, feel free: www.twitter.com/NatN2Greys.

Words to Live By...

"Vanity is the first thing to go."

That was what Michael J. Fox said to Oprah when he was on her show earlier this week, talking about how Parkinson's Disease has changed his life. I was struck by that statement. He said you couldn't worry about how others perceived you, or what they thought...There were too many other things to take care of.

As someone who thinks often what is going through people's mind when they see me, I thought how wonderful it would be to not even worry about that anymore. Not to worry about what people were thinking when they stared a little too long, or to be embarrassed when I jump at the sound of a sneeze during church, not to feel like I have to prove to other people that just because I am physically disabled, does not mean I am mentally impaired. To just NOT WORRY about what others think! What freedom that would bring!

Michael deals with his Parkinson's Disease with such grace and optimism...I pray for just half of the grace with which he deals with things!
